I have a few questions.

Say I make a model, and want to texture it. How do I (in blender) unwrap it, and then save the unwrapped thing to a picture, so I can draw on it, then put it back into blender onto the object.

Also, say I make another model from a plane and extrude, then I go to UV map it, and half the faces are inside it! WTF?

Can anyone help?

Two things: (1) I can tell you how to UV unwrap, but (2) you have to promise to post more Blender Q's here. It's nothing personal, no one else remebers to put things there either Mr. Green.

First, I have to tell you that I'm really busy right now so this tut may not be very good. Select the object you want unwrapped, then mark seems in edit mode with CTRL+E. Go into UV Unwrap mode, select all faces (A key) and press U key. Select LSCM unwrap. Change one of the viewports to UV/Image Editor and you have your unwrapped mesh. Go under UVs in the UV/IE window and select Save UV Face Layout. The rest is self explanatory. Just note that when you put a name in place of Cube00.tga, that it will put Cube00 back into the name, you can just rename it later.

To use an image map, select Image>Open in the UV/IE window.

I'll go into more detail later. Good to have you on-board,

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm using an outdated version... or is it just me being inept?

Linked to not lag up slower connecions

Oh, man... 2.33... eerrgghh...

Go to Blender and download 2.37a. That should work.
