To edit the universe (wow, that would be nice!), control-click on Default.bundle in the Plug-ins folder and select "Show Package Contents". Go to Contents->Resources, and you can edit anything there. Just look at the current examples to see how to do it, and you can make new items or change old ones.

The point is to make a game.

That's a point, isn't it?

Well, kind of a meta-point, but still…

Well, actually, right now there is no point Very Happy
Right now it's basically just an engine. That's where all you guys come in with the story line, to make the point. Of course if you just like blowing things up, load a thousand guns on your ship and you don't need a story line!

If you just like blowing stuff up, go back to DOOM.

Or Halo...

There should be environments on the planet in which you can walk around, shoot stuff, find secrets, etc. etc.

But then we'd need someone to design the levels…and while I can make a decent ship, making lots of levels like that is beyond my abilities.

While that would be fun we'd need someone to make all those levels…

Dang it! That's what my roommate keeps telling me. "Why don't you put in some buildings?" he says. "It would be really cool. You should put in some buildings."

But that would truly add a whole other dimension to the game. I'm not sure that would be good right now. However, the plugin architecture I'm using makes it very easy to add something like that in the future even by independent developers!

If you make an engine for it, I can make it. Ask Zip; I'm fairly ok at making stuff.
