Oh, okay. All you have to do is hit the Back button. You can also click on the ´x´ on the top-right of you post to delete it. The ´edit´ button allows you to edit your post. The ´quote´ button is self explanitory. Leave that post there, though, so that future posters can figure out what we´re talking about.

I'm thinking some of Spork's ships would be appropriate here. Not the flattened bird/bat ones, though _________________ Differentiation is an integral part of calculus. |

Wow... great picture have been formed in my mind by the beautiful use of words... Amazing Redshift...
I agree with mogul... if there are aliens to be discovered they shouldn't ALL be humanoid... i think there should still be a few so you don't always have to fly a human made ship... and it also give you a chance at peace and communication if they are humanoid in some respect... but as for the others... aliens need to be found that have no interstellar travel yet... like if aliens came to earth right now... only they don't have to be human... but add a diplomatic feel to some missions... make the human feel superior to a new race for once in all of science fiction...
as for the non humanoids... we should have a race or something that actually lives in space. like a serpent or something that can live in space... or add little ones like space bats that live in debris fields and feed off energy.
then some aliens who are far superior... but insanely hostel... and there would be very little that anyone could salvage from them. *very hard to disable and not destroy? fail safes on their ships that automatically trigger self destruct?)
and i know we are going for originality... but i would love... i mean love to see some race that was a hive mind... *not like the borg* but more like the Formics (buggers) from Ender's game that act with one mind and a queen controlling them...
anyway just a few ideas thrown out there _________________ He's Mormon/ one of a kind/ Popin' out the scene with only one thing on his mind/ conversion/ and Jesus too/ watch out for his hat cause it's gonna poke you/...Mormon/ yet still the Pope/ seems the high cardnal needs to ban that dope. |

k, so I've finally finished all the planets for the Ssyssylwyssna universe, and I'm pondering missions beyond simple ones. Now the moment of decision... should humans be able to buy Ssyssylwyssna ships? Like maybe they have to pay for some really expensive surgery that allows them to use Ssyssylwyssna stuff (which would be part of a really long mission series), or maybe they can just buy watered-down Ssyssylwyssna mods.....
oh, and for everyone's info, I created a separate Ssyssylwyssna system that has its own government that I called Lyssyn-- they're "weird" ssyssylwyssna that actually have a mild interest in the universe around them. I think if we do anything like allow humans to buy ships or weapons, it should happen there. _________________ There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Makes sense...
Also, all the features for making complex missions aren't currently implemented... you can make branching missions and stuff, but they can only involve carrying cargo from one destination to another. _________________ Differentiation is an integral part of calculus. |

hey, i liked the whole space bat idea so much... okay, not space bats, but
<<drumroll>>
space FISH! and you can go fishing, too! You've just got to be able to keep up with the little buggers, disable them (aka "stun" -- which is really hard to do without destroying them), board, and come away with fish you can sell! Oh, man im having too much fun... _________________ There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

schools of space fish? stun blasters to disable them... and stellar nets to catch them eh?... sounds like a fun little side thing.... kinda like mining asteroids... only fishing in space.... interesting..... _________________ He's Mormon/ one of a kind/ Popin' out the scene with only one thing on his mind/ conversion/ and Jesus too/ watch out for his hat cause it's gonna poke you/...Mormon/ yet still the Pope/ seems the high cardnal needs to ban that dope. |

Still need to make the stunning blasters.... and I don't know about nets. Although it's a way good idea, the fish are weaponless ships that you have to board to get at the sellable cargo... unless there's another way I could do it. BTW, mormonpope, can you download my plugin? 'cause apparently Paul can't & I'm wondering if there's something wrong with they way I've set up my site. If you can, & feel like fishing, the fish live in the Mwya system. _________________ There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Well, I am able to download your plugin, now. I'm not sure what the problem was before. I'll check out your latest stuff. _________________ Differentiation is an integral part of calculus. |

well that's just plain wierd... but if it works, I'm totally okay with not thinking about it. _________________ There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |
