The Dreeb'Gath consist of 3 races, although 1 species. Due to differing religious beliefs, they went outward from their home planet in three directions. They all consider their home planet to be holy land, and share it together. But at all other borders they hold uneasy truces, with frequent fighting breaking out. Some in their governments believe they should put aside their differences and form one governments, but others agitate for complete extermination of the other two. Because of their constant skirmishing, the Dreeb'Gath have fairly advanced weaponry. _________________ Differentiation is an integral part of calculus. |

kinda like the christians the Islam and the jews all wanting jerusalem and stuff... I love parallels to real situations. another way we could take this is like what the covenant are in halo... three different races bound together by religion. and they are so religious that they (having failed to convert the humans) seek their destruction for their disbelief. _________________ He's Mormon/ one of a kind/ Popin' out the scene with only one thing on his mind/ conversion/ and Jesus too/ watch out for his hat cause it's gonna poke you/...Mormon/ yet still the Pope/ seems the high cardnal needs to ban that dope. |

I don't remember if I was thinking of the Jew/Christian/Muslim thing or not, but it sure does fit! Maybe I should add some suicide bombing aliens. _________________ Differentiation is an integral part of calculus. |

so I went totally crazy & expanded the universe.... like a lot. But I didn't do the Dreeb'Gath yet, mostly because I want at least some kind of approval for some of the names I picked (it's a lot easier to mass produce systems when you've already created the government & type files).
With the Dreeb'Gath, I called the three factions the Nh'phit, the Lh'min, and the G'dintin... No, I didn't originally try to come up with Marathon-ish names; it just kind of happened that way. If mormonpope's still around, he might have a pretty good idea where they came from And I thought I'd mix in some of the background from the names for a history:
(if you know what this is from, don't get mad that I'm getting it wrong... or laugh that I'm such a nerd... I'm trying to make it fit & at the same time make it different enough so that it's not completely the same )
my ideas:
The Dreeb'Gath descended from two brothers, Nh'phi and Lh'min, who came from a distant galaxy to escape a war on their homeworld. According to tradition, their father, L'hi, had given them a code of conduct to live by in order to ensure peace between them and their neighbors. This code was written on a sheet of gold that has since been lost. According to the Nh'phit, Lh'min thought their father had favored Nh'phi when he wrote the code, so he ignored it & let Nh'phi keep it, but the Lh'min believe that Nh'phi stole the L'hi sheet for the gold. Today they still battle fiercely over the homeworld, L'hi, and Dreeb'Gath adventurers are constantly searching for the L'hi sheet.
The G'dintin were formed by Nh'phit and Lh'min ex-aristocracy that now subsist mostly through piracy. Originally, they were a secret society that tried to overthrow both governments and unify the Dreeb'Gath under the dictatorship of their leader, G'dintin. However, the plots were discovered by the Nh'phit, and most of the G'dintin fled to more distant systems. The secret fraternity was preserved, and now they live through piracy and recruitment (aka kidnapping) of Nh'phit and Lh'min in hope of building an army big enough to conquer the Dreeb'Gath.
oh, yeah, here's the expanded universe... _________________ There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Sounds fine to me, although maybe if you changed the names a bit more... or maybe make it something other than gold for the sheet. _________________ Differentiation is an integral part of calculus. |

sounds good.... thanks for letting me be lazy!
What about... oh, hey! Dreeb for the Nh'phit, Gath for Lh'min, and .... how about the Society for Dreeb'Gath Unification (SDGU -- yay! acronyms!)
As for the gold... maybe it could be lead... and lead is really rare in that corner of the galaxy & the Dreeb'Gath don't get lead poisoning. _________________ There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |
