Ah, yeah... it's a quirk with OpenGL that it happened to work on some video cards the way I was doing it, but on other cards the text doesn't show up.

I believe I've fixed the problem though, now, so next release you should be good to go. :)

Well, there's actually two lasers... "Laser Cannon" and "Laser Beam". Is it the "Laser Beam" one that's crashing for you? Cause that one crashes for me too (I forgot I hadn't finished it before I uploaded EH :P), but the "Laser Cannon" shouldn't crash. So if y...

There's a program called "Vue" that's now being made available for free, and offers similar functionality to these: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vu ... /index.php

Yeah, there will be another version... some day. :P I agree that there should be unexplored systems, I just hadn't figured out how I wanted to store them. I guess I'll add that to my list of things to take a look at!

Heh, glad it works better on the new comp! What did you get?

Do you know if there's a particular weapon you're firing that causes it to crash, or any weapon randomly crashes it?

Yeah, I hope so, too. :)

Can you send me your crash log? Should be in your home folder /Library/Logs/CrashReporter, and might be named Intel.log or EventHorizon.log.

Congrats on the new computer! I was just without mine for a few days while Apple repaired the case, and I felt so lonely.

Hey hey, welcome back! And Merry Christmas! It's arguable whether we're "still here"... I intended to start working on EH again a few months back, but got busy again. :( But I won't be taking any classes this next semester, so who knows! No problem with using EH footage... but I'd be curio...

Whoa, ha ha! Someone posted! Here's the link: http://www.viscerallogic.com/event_horizon/EHJava.zip

Be warned, though, it does have at least one bug (if you go toward the planet at certain angles and keep going you will start going backwards!).

Ha ha, yeah. It's best for the finer details if those can be captured in the texture instead of the model.

There's not a hard-coded limit, but it definitely does get slower. I would say a couple hundred poly's is a good number to target, but if you can get it lower that's awesome. Of course, as time progresses I suppose I don't have to maintain the same minimum requirements (I originally intended EH to r...
