Cool. I like the geometry. :D

For texture, you may have picked it up from the few relatively poor ships I have done, but I think the Alliance ships should have a lighter look to them, compared to the industrial/sheet metal look of the Terran Empire ships.

Strange; I can open it, so I have to believe it's not corrupt. Are you using the OS X built in extraction utility, or StuffIt? I recommend trying the other, although I can open it with both. StuffIt should be in your Applications folder. To use the OS X built in utility, right click on the file and ...

:) Yeah, I haven't been putting a lot of work into it, lately, so not too much to comment on. But, I'm working on a small project that's almost done, so after that I'll be back working on EH! :D :D :D

I'm glad you're still around, though! 8)

Wiki

I've got a Wiki up and running for EH, now. http://viscerallogic.com/event_horizon/ ... entHorizon I wasn't able to migrate the DB Capn Hector sent me, but we didn't have that much up before, anyway.

Old forums

I have uploaded an archive of the old forum. It is available at http://www.viscerallogic.com/event_hori ... x.php.html

Don't bother trying to log in, or anything... it won't work. Everything is HTML only, so it's not changeable online.

Yep, it uses those, and they are the main two... but also Carbon, DrawSprocket, and AGL (that's Apple's GL) for doing full-screen mode; OpenAL for the sound; and FScript for the scripting.

Account Registration

Due to the nature of spammers, I have upgraded the threat advisory level to "Orange." This will require all persons wishing a new account to first fill out a registration form with a "captcha" (the letters and numbers you have to enter), which will hopefully weed out most of the ...

I added very basic vector graphics, allowing the creation of colored polygons like the default frame. Currently, the default panels and buttons cannot be moved. The default frame is created as follows: <FRONT> <QUADS> Color .5, .5, .5 Vertex -.83, 1 Vertex -.83, .555 Color 0, 0, 0 Vertex -.67, .555 ...

Version 1.0 Requirements

I was thinking a bit about this, and I think we're actually a lot closer to 1.0 then I had previously thought. I think we really only need a few additions to the engine, and then a lot of work on the content. On the engine side, the features I was thinking of as requirements include: Fleets More mis...

As to Mike's question about whether the extra vertices would slow things down, the answer is "no." I handle each vertex independently anyway, so that looks like a good, simple solution. As for the engine glows, I'm thinking it could either be custom ones, or the ship could define 3D points...
