You mean like the picture of once you've landed showing some of the local scenery? That would be pretty simple to implement. The reason I did the spinning globe instead is because I already had to have that for the main part, and I can't do scenery. :) The thing is if only some of the planets are pi...

We don't have a full back story, so we can probably work some of this in. There were actually some old forums which have a lot of information, which I couldn't migrate into the new ones. Here's a link to a galactic map , and you can also follow the links from there to see what we were kicking around.

Welcome!

Can you email me the crash log? It should be created in your home folder/Library/Logs/CrashReports/Intel.crash.log

Also, what computer are you testing on?

It seems you can't make universal binaries compatible with 10.2-10.3 from 10.5... so I'm going to have to go back to 10.4 for my build process. :(

Heh, yeah, I wasn't actually going to release it, but figured people were probably downloading it not knowing it wouldn't work :P .

So I guess I might as well post the link here, too: http://www.viscerallogic.com/event_hori ... est.tar.gz

Well, I found out the problem with the default key bindings. I was using the PPC key codes for both versions! That's fixed now. Still don't know about the button text, though...

Interesting... it's probably the "N/A"s that are causing the problem. Not sure why the text doesn't show in the buttons, though. I may have to go pure graphical with them :?

Thanks for the post, I will check this out!

New Release

I've put a new release out... it's the same code base, but using a Universal build (courtesy of Alastair) instead of the tedious manual process I was doing. So anyway, check it out and see what bugs you find. http://www.viscerallogic.com/event_horizon/EventHorizon0.6.10.zip I've already discovered t...

Test Computers

If you guys could post here to let me know what computers you are using for testing purposes, that would be great, especially for the different graphics cards the different models have and how those interact with OS version.

I'll start off with:

eMac (OS X 10.2-10.4)
MacBook (OS X 10.4-10.5)

Cool. :) SVN (and CVS) is actually built into XCode. Let me know when you get it if you need help configuring.

Source Code

I upgraded to 10.5 recently, and got a fresh installation of the developer tools. I am now able to access the sourceforge servers again, and have set up SVN access. The project is available there at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/evh/

I don't know much about Bryce, but if you can export to Nendo (.ndo) or 3D Studio (.3ds) Wings 3D should be able to import that and then export to .obj.

LOL. Yeah.

We've actually come up with some ideas, left over in the old forum. I unfortunately was unable to bring it over into the new one, but you can find that part here: http://www.viscerallogic.com/event_hori ... m.f=3.html

Also, welcome to the forum!

Well, that's not really the issue for me. It's more a question of coming up with algorithms. Once I get the proper behavior determined, I can generally put it in pretty easily. It's taking so long now, though, because I'm taking classes again while working full time, so I don't have much free time. :?

Oooh, nice!

That's the trouble with working, now... one day is pretty much like the next so I can't match the EH build schedule up against it :?
