how about bump-mapping the planets, so they look a little less... spherical. _________________ BUILT FOR MAC OS X!!! |

Xcept bumping, although nice looking, is not kind to the processor power _________________ "Violence is the last resort of the incompetence", Isaac Asimov

as it is, E.H. shouldn't use much processor power. I also think it needs to look 'sleeker', meaning beizer curves with the .obj, and bump mapping. _________________ BUILT FOR MAC OS X!!! |

I already said that here.
I know its not a good planet, but I made in under 10 minutes to show as an example. I haven't really had time to model lately, but I try.

Why can't we have ships like these?

We could, but Paul won't let us . Besides, they're shperes. Too many polys. The textures are cool though.

... we COULD make a plug that have ships like those.... right? but I just realised it'd be too hard to draw one. |

Spheres can be made with reduces polys and still look passable... that's what smoothing's for! But frankly, I think those things look like big metal eggs. If someone wants to make some, though, I wouldn't object.
Oh yeah, and about those ships that look like painted cardboard boxes, or whatever, that's cause I made them, and I'm not a talented modeller. I don't take any offense, though, I know they don't look great. _________________ Differentiation is an integral part of calculus. |
